Sharing my Independance day co-dependently.....

I was thinking of things that were "American" so then I could enjoy them on the 4th. I figured that would be kinda patriotic. So here was what I was thinking about:
baseball
hotdogs
America, the Beautiful
apple pie
football... not FOOTball...like the rest of the known world sees it as...

then i thought of Fireworks. Yeah! Fireworks! Fireworks are awesome~ but wait... the Chinese invented the firework. Then I thought about Americans. We're all either, Asian American, African American, Native American, European American....minus the Native Americans, we really aren't originally American either. We're from all over the world! Then I just had to go to my list.
Baseball was American. ... but it was based off of the English game Rounders.

The hotdog is credited to the first century A.D. when the Emperor Nero Claudius Ceasar's chef, Gaius took venison and stuck it into a pig's intestine... yum.

America, the Beautiful is very American ( written about Pike's Peak in Colorado.) Unfortunately Katherine Bates (it's creator) was um.... very liberal too... (She formed a romantic relationship with another Katherine, who was the head of the Economics department and with whom she lived until her partner's death in 1915. http://www.miketodd.net/encyc/beaut.htm )

Apple pies are pretty American. There are over 30 different kinds of apples in the world, and the seven native kinds in the U.S. are all crab apples. I've discerned that a good apple pie cannot be made from crab apples... so we had to import our apples from Europe...then we had to import honey bees to keep them alive!

And finally, Football... which can be traced all the way back to it's Rugby lifestyle in England days....

Well, I guess we really can't celebrate our Independence without a little help from around the world... Happy 4th of July!

The ironic part about "American" days and what not, is America was originally where all the unwanted and unsavory people went from other countries. By that I mean convicts and what not. So, no wonder there are few "native" americans around.

Also did you know that the name 'America' was actually the last name of cartographer. He put his last name in the same exact spot that North and South America would be... but they weren't 'found' yet.
